Discipline, bravery, honesty, modesty foundations for excellence: Priya

Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, Apr 18: Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi today said that the 'Time spent for learning is never wasted, and there is always a need for high quality, well trained officers in nation's armed forces'. The Minister was addressing at a Prize Distribution Function at Sainik School Nagrota, organized to felicitate meritorious students and faculty for excellence in the field of education. Speaking on the occasion, the Minster said that the institution founded in 1970, has excelled in its primary role as a feeder institution to the armed forces with numerous Ex- Nagrotians to its credit in the armed forces including NDA, OTA, IMA, AFA and NAVAL Academy. She said besides this, a good number of students from the institute have been IAS, IPS, Doctors, Engineers serving not only in J&K but all over the country. She said that the values taught at the institute like discipline, bravery, honesty and modesty are the four foundation pillars for all young students and these traits imbibed to the students them a unique distinction. She wished the students very best for their future careers and thanked the Principal Col KD Koushal, staff of Sainik School Nagrota for giving her the opportunity to visit and interact with the students. The Minister also distributed prizes to the students for academic excellence besides felicitating faculty and the Principal. During her visit, the Minister inaugurated the renovated Administration & Academic Block at the institute. She also took a detailed tour of the facility including Maj Somnath Stadium, Cadet Mass, Trikuta Hostel among others. She also visited the step-well which is situated inside the premises and holds place in the heritage of the State.
