Dilbag, Danesh inaugurate Jammu District Badminton C’ship

Jammu, Oct 4: Managing Director Housing Corporation, J&K, ADGP Dilbag Singh and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, Danesh Rana inaugurated the 30th Jammu District Badminton Championship in an impressive function at Police Badminton Hall, Gulshan Ground, here today.
The 4-day Championship will conclude on October 4, 2015.
While Dilbag was the chief guest on the occasion, Rana presided over the opening ceremony.
The Tournament is being organized by the Jammu City & District Badminton Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association supported by Police Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Dilbag said that the aim of the Association is to provide basic sports facilities to the talented and emerging players to keep them physically and mentally fit.
Over 300 players participated on Day-1 of the Championship.
The Tournament is being played as per the rules governed by the Badminton Association of India (BAI), under the supervision of Satpal Sharma, NIC Coach.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr O D Sharma, general secretary, JKBA and vice president (BAI), Balbir Singh Jamwal, Sunil Gurkha, Anil Gurkha, Skhdev, Raju Chawal, Pawan Pairhar, Sanjay Jain and P D Singh.
