DIG inaugurates 2nd J&K Masters Cricket C’ship

JAMMU, Jan. 4: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range, Shakti Pathak, inaugurated the 2nd Masters Cricket championship at M.A. Stadium, here today.
The Championship is being organized jointly by Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir Veterans Cricket Association under the supervision of DIG Jammu, DIG Railway Jammu, Arun Gupta President JKVCA and Rajesh Gill.
DIG Jammu lauded the efforts of executive members and coordinators of the Championship for conducting this mega event at Jammu by involving passionate cricketers, including the players from J&K, Punjab, Delhi & MP with the sole aim to promote sports culture and to inspire youths in sports so that they stay away from drugs and other allied illegal activities.
The other dignitaries present on this occasion were DIG Railway Jammu Haseeb Ur Rehman, RK Bhat SSP, Abdul Waheed Shah SSP, Rashid Bhat SSP, Ashish Singh MD Horizon Group of companies, Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player and coordinator of the event, Amir Al Mansoor CPO, and DySP Sagar Singh.
In the First match J&K Game changers defeated JK ACB Legends. Batting first JK ACB Legends scored 64 runs for the loss of all wickets in 14.4 overs with Arif scoring 21 runs and Abdul Waheed 18 runs. From the bowling side Peter took three wickets, Avinash and Bansi took two wickets each and Hardeep took one wicket.
In reply J&K Game Changers scored 65 runs for the loss of three wickets in 11.1 overs thus won the match by seven wickets. Lakhvinder Singh scored 23 runs, Hardeep 22 runs and Narinder 13 runs. Sanjeev of ACB took two wickets while Davinder took one wicket for his team. Peter was declared as Man of the match.
In another match JK Warriors defeated Horizon Stars by one wicket. Batting First Horizon Stars were all out at the score of 95 runs in allotted 20 overs. Rajesh Gill made 32 runs, Raman Dutta 28 runs and Shamsher scored 10 runs and were the main scorers.
In reply JK Warriors chased the target in 16.5 overs for losing nine wickets thus won the match by one wicket. In another match, Horizon Stars defeated game Changers by seven wickets. Batting first JK Game Changer scored 112 runs in 18 overs. Hardeep scored 29 runs, Sohallal 22 runs and Narinder 19 runs. From the bowling side Pardeep Bali took four wickets, Hilal and Shamsher took one wicket each.
In reply Horizon Stars chased the target in 17 overs for the loss of three wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Pardeep Bali scored 30 runs, Rajesh Gill 23 runs and Hilal Rather 21 runs. Pardeep Bali declared man of the match. The officials of the matches were Vijay Raina, Ashok Kumar and Amit Gill. RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the inauguration ceremony.
