Diamond Cricket Club, Champions Club register wins in Winter Shield T20 Cup

JAMMU, Mar. 27: Diamond Cricket Club and Champions Club registered wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing Winter Shield T20 Cup, being organized by SCA, J&K Sports Council under the supervision of Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary, Secretary J&K State Sports Council.
In the first match, Diamond Cricket Club defeated Shining Stars Doda by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Shining Stars Doda scored 125 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Himanshu top scored with 43 runs, while Shahzad Ali contributed 24 runs to the total. Hisham Saleem also chipped in with 15 runs. From the bowling side, Sarabjeet took 3 wickets, while Jagandeep bagged 2 wickets. Gurinder and Pawan claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Diamond Club chased the target in 14.5 overS for the loss of 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Manpreet was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Inderjeet and Gurinder contributed 35 and 27 runs respectively.
From bowling side, Anmol took 2 wickets, while Shahzad and Asif claimed 1 wicket each. Manpreet was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, Champions defeated KC Academy by 6 wickets.
Batting first, KC Academy scored 133 runs in 20 overs. Vikas and Sidarth contributed 23 runs each, while Chaitanya made 16 runs. From the bowling side, Akshit was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets, while Sourav took 2 wickets and Akshay claimed one.
In reply, Champions Club chased the score in 16.5 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Akshit was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay, Dayal and Ashok Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Red Rose Arnia will take on Eleven Stars Rajouri at 9.30 am, while Poonch Cricket Club will face Saffron Club at 1.30 pm.
