KATRA, Sept 24: On third day of All India Devotional Song Competition, Deepak Kumar from Kanyala took 1st position and Kabul Bukhari from Mumbai stood 2nd while 3rd position was bagged by Aarshi Kalas from Jammu.
These winners of preliminary round of the competition were provided cash prizes of Rs 10,000/- , Rs 5,000/-and Rs 3,000/- besides gift hampers from Roots Herbals. There were total 10 auditioned participants.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music, including Dr Usha Bhagati, Ex.HoD Music MAM College Jammu, Parveen Sabharwal, Professor of Music Department and V K Sambyal, Retd. Director All India Radio.
Famous celebrity singers, Dr Sumangal Arora, Mannu Bandana and Shashi Shahid, who had come all the way for performing in the event, enthralled the audience with their melodious songs and the total environment of the venue became spiritual and the people were seen dancing on their tunes.
The proceedings of competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, who is also the Chairman of the said competition. While speaking on the occasion, he said that famous celebrity singer Shanker Sawhney known for his many hit songs like Ek Kudi Kurmuri, Baba Main Teri Patang, Mere Ghar Ke Aage etc, will perform tomorrow.
Earlier, celebrity singers Dr Sumangal Arora, Mannu Vandana and Shashi Shad lighted ceremonial lamp in the presence of Nodal Officer Navratra Festival Committee, Arvind Kotwal, CEO Bhaderwah Development Authority, Bal Krishan, Dy SP Subash Bhardwaj, Rakesh Wazir, president Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra and Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand ji Maharaj, Virender Kesar and others.
The All India Devotional Song Competition, is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board, Deptt of J&K Tourism and Shradha Mh one, in association with Shiv Khori Shrine Board, J&K Bank, Ramada City Center Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Pure Roots Herbal, Nidhesh Builders Jammu Pvt Ltd., 92.7 Big FM, District Administration and the local host community.
