KATHUA, Aug 28: A deputation of sportspersons, led by Naresh Kumar Sharma (President Kathua Badminton Association) along with others members met with District Development Commissioner (DDC) and Chief Planning Officer of Kathua and submitted a memorandum for the construction of Indoor Sports Complex in the town for indoor sports activities, here today.
Naresh Kumar Sharma briefed the DDC that due to absence of Indoor Sports Complex, the aspirants, especially growing children were facing numerous difficulties and being compelled to play indoor games under open sky.
“Kathua has many players who have ability to represent not only at State and national level but can print their names on international level,” he informed, adding that the Kathua town will get a new Sports Complex, it will also help the youth to stay away from social crimes and drugs menace.
After patiently hearing the demand of the sportspersons, the DDC assured them that he will take up with the higher authorities soon.
