KISHTWAR, May 20: A Science-cum-Environment Week was conducted at ALG Complex in Kishtwar, under Delta force based at Kishtwar, which concluded here today.
The General Officer Commanding, Delta Force was the chief guest during culmination of exhibition, today.
In his address, he welcomed the students, district administrative officials, various school Principals and highlighted the contribution made by them in the success of event. The event witnessed active participation of more than 20 schools of Kishtwar District.
The Science Exhibition was attended by officials of civil administration including, DC, SP, General Manager, NHPC, ADC, DFO, CEO, Students, Professionals including teachers and educational staff from various Government & Private Schools and Colleges. The children demonstrated their exuberance by participating whole heartedly in various themes like Waste Management, Soil Conservation and Renewable Sources of Energy and Pollution.
At the end of the event, the General Officer Commanding handed over the prizes to the winners of the Inter School Quiz, Debate & Science Exhibition.
In the Inter School Quiz Competition, Furqan Academy Kishtwar secured the first position, Bharti Vidya Mandir School bagged second position and Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School, Kishtwar claimed third position.
In the Inter School Science Exhibition, Furqan Academy, Kishtwar got first position, Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School, Kishtwar claimed second spot and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kishtwar clinched third place.
Finally the overall best school championship trophy was awarded to Furqan Academy, Kishtwar.
