Deepika qualifies Karate Referee ‘A’ exam

JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu girl Deepika Chauhan passed Referee ‘A’ exam from Karate Association of India (KAI) and became first female from Jammu and Kashmir to pass this exam.
Deepika is a Central Bank employee and former first female medal winner in senior National Karate Championship in 2008 held at Chennai.
Safa Masoodi from Srinagar became the first female to qualify as Karate coach from Karate Association of India, while Charan Singh from Rajouri  and Sourav Mehra from Jammu  also qualified coach exam from KAI.
President of AKAJK, Sunil Sharma, Minister of State for Sports and Transport lauded the efforts of the State Karatekas for this achievement.
Ambedkar Gupta, General Secretary AKAJK and Joint Secretary KAI also appreciated the officials for qualifying the exams held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
