JAMMU, Mar 10: Udha-mpur Police under the supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP today organized a Debate Competition under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Shivalik College of Education Udhampur. Topic of debate was “Drug Awareness”.
Fifteen participants from different schools/institutes of the area participated in the competition. While floating the messages in the society regarding ill effects of drugs and the ways to prevent drug addiction among the youth, participants expressed their views with high spirit and enthusiasm. They also thanked police for such awareness programmes from time to time.
The first prize was Rs 1500 which was bagged by Shahid of Delhi Public School Udhampur, while the 2nd prize of Rs 1000 was bagged by Rai Sudhi Singh of Braham Rishi Bawra Vidhya Peeth Udhampur and the 3rd prize of Rs. 500 each was shared by Priya Thakur of Government Girls HSS Udhampur and Mansi of Happy Model School Udhampur. Mementoes and certificates were also present to the winners.
Mohan Lal Kaith, Additional SP Udhampur was the chief guest, while Gourav Mahajan, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and SHO P/S Udhampur were present on the occasion. Besides other prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
