RAMBAN, Oct 15: District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan today inaugurated Inter- Zone District Level Athletic meet for Girls at District Police Line Ground, here today.
The event is being organized by Youth Services and Sports Department, Ramban.
About 100 selected girls from six Zones participated in the various sport disciplines including High Jump and Long jump, Race, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw and other activities. The DDC directed concerned to ensure equal participation of girls in all sports activities.
In High Jump U/14 categroy, Sania Bano of GHS Sundgali and Bisma Jamil of UPS Jabba bagged Gold & Silver medals respectively whereas in U/ 17 categroy, Shabnam of HS Seri, Uzma Abdullha of HS Tethar and Nidhi Jaan of HSS Tether Shabnam of HS Seri bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze medals respectively and Rabia Yaseen of GHSS Banihal bagged Gold medal in U/19 categroy.
In 200 Meters Race U/17 categroy, Rafee Banoo of Dandarth, Reeba of GHS Seri and Varsha Kohli of GGHS Tethar bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively whereas in Long Jump U/14, Samee Banoo of HS Sundgalli, Afroza Bano of UPS Jabba and Ayesha Hussain of HSS Tethar clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.
In U/17 categroy, Shivali Devi of GHS Batote, Aisha Saleem of HSS Tethar & Ronak Rashid of HS Seri secured Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively whereas in U/19, Tania Aashraf of HSS Tethar and Asiya Banoo of GGHSS Banihal clinched Gold & Silver respectively.
In Discus Throw U/14 categroy, Afeeyah Jaan of GHS Sundgali, Jyoti Devi of GHS Batote& Nazia of UPS Gagirsulla secured Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively while in U/17, Reeba of GHS Seri clinched Gold Medal and in U/ 19, Asya Bano of GHSS Banihal & Aasia Nazir of HSS Tethar clinched Gold, Silver Medals respectively.
In Short Put U/14 categroy, Adeeba Nazir of New Convent Banihal, Payal Devi of GHS Batote & Sqidah of UPS Gagirsullah bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively whereas in U/17, Shivali Devi of GHS Batote, Mehar Kayoom of HS Seri & Ravika Rafiq of HSS Tethar clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively and in U/19 Maysooma Rashid of GHSS Banihal clinched Gold Medal.
In Javelin Throw competition U/17 Shabnam Jan of HS Seri clinched Gold Medal.
