SRINAGAR, Sept 13: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today inaugurated Nawabagh Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament, launched by Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Association Nawabagh.
The DC interacted with players and urged upon them to vigorously participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academics for their physical and mental health and said that such event will help to keep the young generation away from the lethal mobile games, drugs, social evils and inculcate the spirit and love among the youth.
Meanwhile, he also assured that the District Administration will provide every possible support to boost sports activities in the district. “Play grounds will be developed in every Panchayat of the district and the Nawabagh playground will be made one of the best play ground in the district, so that more games could be organized at this venue,” he asserted.
The inaugural match was played between Mudity City Hunks and Sultan Warriors while 64 teams participating in the tournament.
