ANANTNAG, Apr 14: District Magistrate Anantnag, Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, visited Panchmukhi Colony, Vessu, where a cricket match was organised between Sharda Cricket Club and Panchmukhi Cricket Club as part of community engagement and youth development initiatives.
During his visit, the DC interacted with players and appreciated their enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship. He distributed sports kits among the participating teams and encouraged youth to actively engage in constructive and healthy activities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Mohiuddin highlighted the significance of the initiative under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign launched by the Lieutenant Governor. He emphasized the crucial role of youth in building a drug-free society and urged them to channel their energy towards sports and positive pursuits.
He said that sports not only build physical strength but also instill discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among youth. At the culmination of the event, the DC felicitated both teams and applauded their performance. The initiative was widely appreciated by local residents, who expressed gratitude for his encouragement and support towards youth-centric activities in the area.
