JAMMU, Oct 30: The Inter-Collegiate Men and Women Badminton Tournament, organized by Cluster University of Jammu and hosted by Government MAM College at Police Lines Indoor Badminton Hall, witnessed spirited competition among constituent colleges. Dr. Vinod Bakshi was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Tarsem Lal, Convener Sports, presented a memento to Dr. Bakshi.
In the Women’s section, GGM Science College defeated Govt. MAM College by 2–1, while GCW Gandhi Nagar beat SPMR College of Commerce by 2–1 in the quarterfinals. GGM Science College then overcame Govt. College of Education by 2–1 to reach the final. In Men’s matches, SPMR College of Commerce defeated Govt. MAM College by 3–0, while GGM Science College advanced directly due to the unavailability of their opponent.
The Women’s final will feature GGM Science College versus GCW Gandhi Nagar and in Men’s, GGM Science College will face SPMR College of Commerce. Matches were officiated by Arjun Sharma, Rahul Chawriya, and Davinder Singh with Prof. Monita Bhatt appreciating the organizers and players.
