Cricket tournament concludes at Anantnag

Anantnag, Mar 12: Cricket tournament for cricketers with physical disabilities concluded at District Police Lines Anantnag, here today.
The tournament was organised and sponsored by District Police in collaboration with Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline Bijbehara, wherein four teams participated.
In the final, Zaiba Aapa CC defeated Apple town Cricket Club by 5 wickets. Apple Town CC made 143 runs by losing 7 wickets. In reply Zaiba Aapa CC chased the target by losing only 5 wickets. Mohammad Aamir Bhat was declared as man of the match and series as well. He took 7 wickets in the series and made 86 runs.
Padma Shri awardee, Javed Ahmad Tak who is himself bound to wheelchair was the guest of honour, while Ashish Kumar Misra SSP Anantnag was chief guest and Abdul Aziz DSP DAR facilitated the event with the technical support from Inspector Mohammad Ramzan and SI Aijaz Ahmad.
In his speech, Javed Ahmad Tak said that persons with disabilities have lots of talent but the need is to give opportunity to participate with reasonable accommodation.
The chief guest said that District Police is committed to include persons with disabilities in all developmental activities without any bias or barrier. The winning and runner up teams were given trophies, certificates and cash awards.
