JAMMU, July 4: All J&K chess association office bearers today honored Meenal Gupta and her coach Vivek Bharti for historic performance in Commonwealth chess championship 2018 which concluded at New delhi yesterday. 730 players from 15 countries participated in 16 different age categories of boys and girls. Meenal had won the Silver medal in U-16 girls age category.
Young chess players of Jammu also gathered to welcome Meenal in a function held at Nek hotel today. Association members wished good luck to the Meenal for future endeavours.It is the third International Medal of Meenal Gupta. She had earlier won U-14 age category gold in commonwealth in Srilanka in 2016 and U-15 Gold in south asian Amateur at Jammu.
