JAMMU, Nov 21: The wait for achievers in various sports disciplines was finally over as the Government today handed over the prestigious awards to coaches and players in a simple gathering, organised at MA Stadium, here.
As many as 18 coaches were presented the Parshuram Sports Award in recognition of their outstanding performance while the 48 outstanding players were awarded with Sher-i-Kashmir Awards.
The awardees including coaches and players were from the year 2012-13 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.
The achievers however, thanked the J&K UT Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for making it possible even in COVID-19 pandemic.
J&K Sports Council Managers S P Singh and Satish Gupta handed over the mementos and track suits to the awardees on behalf of the Government while award money will be transferred to their respective bank accounts.
