JAMMU, Sept 20: Star-studded Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) trounced formidable National Cricket Club in a close contest by 13 runs to lift the State Cricket Academy T20 Cricket Championship at MA Stadium, here today.
Dr SD Singh, IGP Jammu was the chief guest in the valedictory function, while, Arun Manhas ADC Jammu; Pardeep Dutta, J&K Bureau Chief Times-Now; Vinod Kumar SP City; Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Physical Director Jammu University, Desh Rattan Dubey and Joint Secretary JKCA Jammu Wing were the guests of honour.
The chief guest and the guests of honour distributed cheques of cash prizes among the winners and runners-up teams, including Rs 50,000 for winner and Rs 30,000 for runners-up team, besides individual prizes.
Earlier, Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman, District Sports Council, Jammu presented brief report of the tournament.
In the summit clash, KCCC won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Bandeep Singh and Shubham Khajuria top scored with 41 runs each, while Jatin contributed 25 runs to the total.
From NCC, Tanmay took 2 wickets, while Ritik, Sahil, Vijay and Ankush claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, NCC made 145 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 13 runs. Manish top scored with 41 runs, while Pranav Gupta contributed 40 runs.
For Kishen Chand Cricket Club, Bandeep Singh, Ramdayal and Soumay Jain claimed 2 wickets each, while Manik Gupta and Ankush Bandral claimed one each.
Bandeep Singh was adjudged man of the match and man of the series for his brilliant performance, while Suryansh Raina and Sahil Balwal were declared best batsman and best Bowler respectively. Ateev Saini of KC Sports Club was declared as the best all-rounder, while Rohan Gill was declared as youngest participant and emerging player of the tournament.
The match was officiated by Amit Gupta and Saleem-Ur-Rehman, while RP Singh conducted the post match presentation.
