Civil B lifts Inter Departmental Cricket title at IECS

JAMMU, Apr 19: Civil B team defeated Electrical Engg. department by a margin of 23 runs in the summit clash to win the Inter Departmental Cricket tournament at IECS Polytechnic here.
Earlier, put into bat, Civil B scored a fighting score of 95 runs in the stipulated 10 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Aadil, the captain of the Civil B team, was the top scorer with 61 runs, which includes 7 big sixes, while Kabir took two wickets for Electrical Departmen.
In reply, Electrical Engineering Department bundled out for 72 runs. Aadil took 2 wickets for Civil B team. For his valuable 61 runs and two wickets, Aadil of Civil B was declared man of the match.
Principal of IECS Polytechnic Prof. K.G. Gupta appreciated the efforts of faculty members for smooth conducting of all the matches during the tournament and also congratulated the winning team. The match was officiated by Abhinav and
Darshan Kumar as Umpires and Er. Durgesh Kumar and Er. Sandeep Singh as scorers. The tournament was played under the supervision of Er. Amit Sharma, Sports Secretary. Others present on the occasion included Er. Ajay Jamwal, Dean administration, Er. H.N Bhat,  Anil Warikoo, Er. Sonia Kohli, Er. Preeti Sundan and Er. Opinder Kour.
