City Boys, WCC Red script wins

JAMMU, Jan 14: City Boys and WCC Red scripted wins in the ongoing CL Chrangoo Memorial Cricket Tournament by defeating its opponents convincingly with 22 runs and by five wickets, being played at Country Cricket Ground Amb Gharota, here today.
City Boys won the toss and elected to bat first. The City Boys scored 152 runs for the loss of all wickets with two overs left from the stipulated 20 overs match. Faizan made 39 runs with the help of five boundaries and one six while facing 32 balls. Aneesh and Kaka contributed 29 and 17 runs respectively. From bowling side, Akash Gupta and Atul Watloo clinched three wickets by conceding 30 and 33 runs respectively.
While chasing the target, the Lal Ded bundled out at 130 runs in 20 overs wherein Rakshit, Amit and Shivam contributed 28, 18 and 15 runs respectively. From bowling side, Junaid Ali was the wrecker-in- chief who took four wickets while Rakesh Dass and Imtiyaz clinched two wickets each.
Junnaid Ali was declared as man of the match for his excellent performance with ball.
In another match, WCC Red beat the Sharda CC with five wickets wherein Sharda CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Electing to bat first, Sharda CC scored moderate 116 runs by losing all wickets in 20 overs. Ishan Dhar made highest 49 runs, whereas Ankur and Anshul contributed 23 and 12 runs respectively. From bowling side, Bharat, Bunty and Adil bagged two wickets each while Raman took one wicket.
In reply, the WCC chased the target in 18 overs by losing only five wickets and thus won the match by five wickets. Adil made highest 37 runs, whereas Bharat Saraf and Deepak scored 22 and 11 runs respectively. From bowling side, Ankur, Anshul and Atul bagged 2,1 and 1 wickets respectively.
Adil was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance.
