JAMMU, Dec 23: Christmas Day was celebrated with religious fervour
In connections Christmas Day celebrations, a religious procession was taken out in Kathua by Christmas Society Kathua.
The procession started from Bershoba Church and passed through various parts of the Kathua including bus stand, main chowk, Mukherjee Chowk and Shaheedi Chowk. People from all walks of life joined the procession. The school children also joined the religious procession. Among others MC President Naresh kumar, Municipal Councilor Sanjeev Vaid, Varinder Kumar, Karan Kumar and Advocate Sushil Kumar were present.
A colourful Christmas programme was organised with the slum school children by the Bethel Bhavan at Narwal. The children presented beautiful songs and Christmas carols. The chief guest on the occasion was Rev John Roques Bhatti. Rita is running the slum school. Later gifts were presented to the children by the chief guest and the President of the Bethel Bhavan Thomas Paul. The function was attended by Rev Shoukat Peter President Jammu and Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship Jammu, Sofia Principal of the Bethel Living Word School, Camres David Babbloo President of All India Masih Seva Dal, Simon Paul, Ayub Khokhar, Daud Victor and Monica Gill.
