JAMMU, Dec 7: Christmas Cup 7-Stars Football Championship was inaugurated by BJP district president, Vinay Kumar Gupta at Alexander Memorial School Ground, here today.
The Football championship was organized by Lovvy Sobby Chairman of Kingdom Ministry Charitable Trust wherein eight teams are participating. The opening match was played between St. Peter Church Football Club and Discipline of God Football Club.
Vinay Gupta who was the chief guest of the event said that the objective of the tournament was to encourage sports activity, so that the potential of the youth channelize towards self development and nation building. “His party is committed to improve the sports infrastructure in the Union Territory of J&K,” he said.
Gupta highlighted the BJP led Union Government initiatives for the development of sports infrastructures especially in Jammu and Kashmir including under construction of Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Complex with worth Rs 58.23 crores and Rs 200 crores Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP).
Rajesh Gupta vice president BJP district Jammu, Narinder Koki secretary BJP District Jammu, Rajinder Gupta general secretary Jammu East Mandal, AS Jorge, Amit Sarotra, Shezad Gill, Victor Kalyan and Featus Sotra were also present during the inaugural function.
