AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Jan 2: Christian Sports Club registered an empathetic win against Department of Road and Safety Club and entered in the final of the ongoing AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship, being played at Parade ground, here today.
In the first semifinal match, Christian Sports Club defeated Road and Safety Department Club by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Road & Safety Department scored 126 runs for the loss of all wickets in 17.2 overs. Ishtiaq scored 27 runs, while Yasir made 20 runs and Pankaj Lada chipped in 19 runs.
From bowling side, Kartik took 3 wickets while Rajesh Gill, Jamat Ali, Prithi, Sunny and Rayees took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Christian Sports Club chased the target in the 17.5 overs by losing 6 wickets thus won the match by 4 wickets. Rayees made 38 runs, while Majid scored 27 runs and Rajesh Gill scored 21 runs.
From bowling side, Yasir took 3 wickets, while Rompy Sharma took 2 wickets and RK Bhat took 1 wicket.
Rayees was adjudged as Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, Fr Kuriakose Chairman Christian Sports Organization Jammu and President of Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu greeted the Christian Sports Club for entering in the final of the Christmas T20 Cricket Championship for the first time. He conveyed his best wishes to the Christian Sports Club for good performance in grand finale also.
In the last quarterfinal match, Horizon Club defeated Simula Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Batting first Simula Cricket Club scored 118 runs for the loss of all wickets in 19.2 overs. Manjeet made 36 runs runs, while Satish scored 17 runs and Akash Choudhary made 12 were.
From bowling side, Sawan and Sukha took 3 wickets each while Imran and Tanmay took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Horizon Cricket chased the target in 17.2 overs by losing 5 wickets thus won the match by 5 wickets. Vivrant played a splendid inning of 49 runs, while Jatin scored 25 runs and Surinder made 13 runs.
From bowling side, Ankit took 3 wickets while Akash and Rajat took 1 wicket each.
Sukha was declared as Man of the Match.
In second semifinal to be played tomorrow, Horizon Cricket Club will take on Lakshmi Cricket Club and Jammu Angels will clash with Jammu Girls XI.
