Chess Festival events at Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag conclude

ANANTNAG, Mar 28: In the ongoing mega Chess Festival, the competitions at the districts of Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag concluded here today.
Training sessions and events were held at different schools and other venues.
Meanwhile, in Shopian district, major training session was formally inaugurated by SDM Sayeed Ahmad at Innovation Public School Zainapura.
The finals of Shopian district will be conducted tomorrow.
About 1500 players from different areas attended training camps and events in Shopian district going on from March 26, 2019.
This Festival is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council and initiated by Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary.
The Festival is being held under the guidance of Atul Kumar Gupta, President AJKCA and managed and organized by Ashiq Ahmad Kolu and all the members of Kashmir division and district bodies.
About 10000 players are expected to participate in trainings and events in all the 10 districts at different venues.
The organisers believe that this type of event will go a long way in luring youth towards sports and will also lead them towards positive direction to not to derail from the mainstream.
A total cash prize of Rs.1,50,000 and 240 medals will be distributed among the winners of this Festival.
Events in rest of the districts will be held from March 29 to March 31, 2019.
