Chandigarh boys lift LAKSH-2021 trophy title

JAMMU, Dec 31: The third season of LAKSH (Leh and Kargil Super Heroes) Tournament came to an end with the victory of Chandigarh Beautiful Boys by defeating Skalzangling FC by 1 goal to nil, played here at GGM Science College Football Ground Jammu.
As many as 12 teams from cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Leh and Kargil participated in the event which commenced on December 25. Earlier Skalzangling FC defeated RLC and Chandigarh Beautiful Boys defeated Indus Chushot to enter into the finals of LAKSH season three.
The final match witnessed huge participation of ladakh residents as spectators which made the match equally enthusiastic.
Talking about the event, founder of LAKSH, Sajeed Jafari exorted upon the importance of physical games among youths. Recalling the aim of founding LAKSH to sensitize communal harmony and anti drug campaign among youths he appreciated the cooperation of teams and the proud sponsors of LAKSH.
“LAKSH is a platform for Ladakhi players to perform and the organizers are keeping no stone unturned to make this event more beautiful and successful, they are organizing the event with objectives of communal harmony and anti drug campaign” Jigmet Namgyal a player CHD BB said.
Meanwhile in the presentation ceremony trophies and cash prizes were distributed among the players. A cheque of Rs 25,000/-, a trophy and certificates were given to the winner up team while as a cheque of Rs15,000/-, a trophy and certificates was given to the runner up team.
Dorjay Baku of CHD BB declared player of the tournament while as Mukhtar Hussain of MEWSL Academy, Abid Ali of RLC, Jigmet Stanzin of Skalzangling FC, Stanzin Gurmet of CHD BB, Nawang Dorjay (OneLove) of CHD BB was declared best midfielder, upcoming player of the tournament, best striker, best goalkeeper & best defender respectively.
Dorjay Baku, Ilyas Hussain and Arif Shan were also facilitated on the occasion for their outstanding role in promoting football in Ladakh.
During the event Abid Ali, Irfan Ali Zeeshan and Suhail Ahmad of Real Lona Club, Kacho Hassan Khan, Munawar Abbas and Sibtain of Indus Chushot were also honoured for their selection in India Khelo Football (IKF).
