JAMMU, Dec 22: Champions Cricket Academy Chandigarh defeated Jammu Vishal Cricket Club by seven wickets in the ongoing under-17 Christmas Cricket Championship, being played at Landran Cricket Ground Kharar, Mohali.
Jammu Vishal Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first Jammu Vishal Cricket Club scored 177 runs for eight wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Achintiya Khajuria and Rohan Gill were the main scorers with 45 and 41 runs while Vanshaj and Arnav Gupta contributed 26 and 21 runs respectively to the total. From the bowling side, Jatin took three wickets while S. Jamwal and Harsh Saini shared one wicket each.
In reply, Champions Cricket Academy chased the target in 30 overs by losing three wickets thus won the match by seven wickets. Jeevanjot scored 70 runs with eight boundaries and one six while Harsh Saini made 47 runs and Aryan Verma contributed 21 runs. From the bowling side, Krishna, Dhruv Sharma and Vansh Khadyal took one wicket each. Jeevanjot was declared as man of the match.
The tour for the Jammu boys is being arranged by the members of the Indian Cricket Association in association with Vishal Cricket Club Jammu with the objective to provide platform to the J&K Cricketers, so that they can exhibit their cricket talents and to improve their match temperament while playing with other State players.
