KATRA, Sept 23: All India Devotional Song Competition entered in second day late evening as a part of Navratra Festival 2017 began today at Yog Ashram Complex, here.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by celebrity singer Balraj in presence of CMO Reasi Laxman Das, Senior Journalist Harbans Nagoke, Celebrity Singer and former winner of the competition Vibha Bharti, BMO Katra Gopal Dutt, DySP Kulbir Honda, Subash Bhardwaj, Rakesh Wazir, President Hotel Association, Katra & Chairman All India Devotional Song Committee, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj and Virender Kesar.
In the preliminary round of competition, Reema Devi from Kanyala bagged 1st position, Sohani Sharma from Jammu stood 2nd and 3rd position was claimed by Varsha Jamwal from Jammu, among the 10 auditioned participants in which 2 participants were from outside state.
The winners were provided with a cash prize of 10,000, 5,000 and 3,000 respectively by Celebrity Balraj in presence of other dignitaries.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panel of experts in music including Dr Usha Bhagati, Ex HoD Music many degree colleges including PGMAM College Jammu, Prof Parveen Sabharwal Professor Music Department in many Degree Colleges and VK Sambyal, retired Director All India Radio.
Famous celebrity singer Balraj known for his hit songs like Jan Te Bani, Candle light dinner,3 saal da pyar etc. and Vibha Bharti winner of Mh One Awaz Punjab Di enthralled the audience with their melodious songs.
The proceedings of Competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir who is also the Chairman of the said Competition who while speaking on the occasion said that famous Celebrity Singer Gulzar Lahoria known for his many hit songs will perform tomorrow.
