SAMBA, Jan 31: The Inter-CBSE Schools (Under-17) Volleyball Tournament commenced today at MV International School, with 21 boys’ and girls’ teams from CBSE schools across Jammu, Samba and Kathua participating to win the championship trophy. The event is being organized under the aegis of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex.
The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest, Shiv Kumar, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, along with the guest of honour, Virender Singh Manhas, SSP Samba. Special Guests included SDPO Vijaypur Rohit, ZPEO Joginder Sharma, Chairman Hira Lal Abrol and Director Gourav Abrol. The Principal, staff and students of MVIS also graced the occasion.
The chief guest commended the school management for the excellent arrangements made for the tournament. The tournament follows a knockout format, with matches already producing thrilling moments. In the boys’ category, teams like RM Public School, MV International School and Doon International School secured victories in their respective matches. The girls’ matches also saw intense competition, with Carmel Convent School and APS Kalu Chak moving closer to the finals.
Tomorrow’s fixtures include boys’ semi-finals between APS Kalu Chak vs. MV International School and MHAC Nagbani vs. Sainik School Nagrota. The girls’ final will be between Carmel Convent School and APS Kalu Chak.
