Bunty Slathia Memorial Cricket tournament begins

JAMMU, Oct 2: First Bunty Slathia Memorial Cricket Tournament, being organised by Domana Cricket Club, commenced at Nagbani, here today.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament which will culminate on October 9.
On the first day of the tournament, two matches were organised wherein the opening match was played between Brother CC and Baba Jeeto CC.
Baba Jeeto CC won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Baba Jeeto scored 162 runs by losing 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs, wherein Sachin Chib made unbeaten 52 runs, while Ajay and Shakti contributed 35 and 28 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Sunny and Ranga clinched 2 wickets each.
In reply, Brother CC bundled out at 130 runs and lost the match by 32 runs, in which Shaka scored 40 runs and Ranga contributed 37 runs. From the bowling side, Ankush and Ajay took 3 wickets each, while Rohit got 2 wickets.   Sachin Chib was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance.
In another match, Soldiers CC defeated Domana CC by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Domana CC made 115 runs in 17.5 overs wherein Shempu made highest 57 runs, while Manjeet scored 12 runs. From the bowling side, Vishu was the wrecker in chief who took 4 wickets by conceding 11 runs, while Gandhi took 2 wickets by giving 17 runs.
In reply, Soldiers CC chased the target in 14.1 overs by losing only 2 wickets and registered 8 wickets win over the Domana CC, wherein Bhanu Gupta made 46 runs and Ajay contributed unbeaten 31 runs. From the bowling side, Raman and Kapil took 1 wicket each. Vishu was declared as man of the match for his outstanding bowling.
The match was officiated by Amit Gill and Ashok Singh, while Sahil Mattoo acted as scorer.
