JAMMU, May 3: Budding sportspersons continued to display skill and talent in the ongoing District Level and Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament at various zones across Jammu division.
Two days Zonal Level Inter-School Competitions organized by the Department of Youth services & Sports in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling for Boys and Girls in the age group of 14 and 17 years concluded at Mahore and Arnas Zones of District Reasi in which about 470 students of different educational institutions participated. During the concluding function Headmaster High School Chinkah Krishan Singh was the special guest.
Others present on the occasion includes Shiv Dutt Sharma, Chinta Devi, Gurvinder Singh, Bholi Devi, Zunaid Ali and number of local people. The whole Competitions are organized under the directions of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the direct supervision of Dr. SS Chib, District Youth Services & Sports.
The matches were officiated by the technical team comprising Pardeep Nag, Ashok Kumar, Tour Kumar, Pushkar Raj, Romesh Chander, Anil Singh, Des Raj, Kuldeep Raj, Surinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Harjeet Singh.
Under 14 Kabaddi Boys: HSS salalkote beat MS Salal Kotli by 25-23; Under 17 Kabaddi Boys: HSS Salal beat HSS Arnas by 18 Points; Under-17 Volleyball Boys : HSS Salal beat HSS Arnas by 2-1; Under 14 Kho-Kho Boys; Giridhar Shiksha Niketan beat MS Chubi by 3 points; Under 17 Kho-Kho Boys: HSS Arnas beat HSS Salal by 10-05; Under 14 Kho-Kho Girls: KGBV beat MS Chubi by 9-7; Under 17 Kho-Kho Girls HS Chinkah beat HSS Arnas by 12-11; Under 17 Kabaddi HSS Panassa beat HSS Arnas by 5 points: Zone Mahore: Under 14 Kabaddi Boys: PPP Mahore beat Mountaineering Convent School by 18-15; Under 17 Kho-Kho Boys; PP Mahore beat HSS Mahore by 23-15;
Under 17 Kho-Kho Girls: HSS Mahore beat PP Mahore by 13-10; Kho-Kho Under 14 Boys: PP Mahore beat Mountaineering Convent by 14-04; Volleyball Under 14 Boys; Mountaineering Convent beat PP Mahore by 2-0; Volleyball Under 17 Boys: PP Mahore beat HHS Mahore by 2-1.
Zonal Level inter-School Tournament in the discipline of Badminton for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls was organized under the chairmanship of Jarpal Singh, DYSSO Ramban and under the supervision of ZPEO Batote, Veer Ji Bhat at Government HSS, Batote.
In Girls Under-14 singles, Payal Devi of NMS Sawni defeated Sudesha Devi of MS Gami, while Khushbu of GHS Batote defeated Payal Devi of MS Sawni.
In Under-17 girls singles, Preety Devi of GHS Sanasar outplayed Nargis Akhtar Lone of GHS, Batote. The Tournament was inaugurated by In-Charge Principal Govt HSS Batote, Jagjeet Singh.
Inter School District level competition in the sports discipline of Basketball and Handball Boys Under- 14 and Under-17 concluded here at M.A Stadium Jammu and Dogra Ground Shastri Nagar.
Basketball U-14 Boys; 1st S.F APS Sunjwan beat Stephen International by 24-07, while in 2nd S.F Jodhamal Public School beat MHAC Nagbani by 10-04 and in final APS Sunjwan defeated Jodhamal Public School by 21-03.
The matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Vaneet, Mousmai, Satika and Amit Kalsi.
In Handball U-17 Boys final, St. Peter B.C Road beat Rainbow Public School by 10-05, while in Handball Under-14 Boys semifinal, APS Miran Sahib beat St. Peter B.C Road by 3-0; Heritage defeated St. Peter Karan Bagh by 7-0.
In final, Heritage beat APS Miran Sahib by 7-0.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Gourav Sharma, Sanjay Jamwal and Mokshi Bali.
In Matsogi Do U-14 Boys final, Jodahmal Public School beat Stephen International by 10-2, while in Matsogi Do U-17 Boys final, Jodahmal Public School beat Jammu Sanskriti School by 10-3.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Paul, Kamal Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Sudesh Jamwal.
In Inter-School Competition at Sports Stadium, Kathua, Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar lifted the title of Under-14 Football boys, while DPS Rajbagh won the Under-17 boys football title . The competitions were organized under the oerall supervision of Sunil Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua.
