Srinagar, July 25: Spectators who had just enjoyed the game were shell-shocked after the organizers of the ongoing Professional League Football tournament- 2021 and few coaches exchanged blows after the culmination of a match at Synthetic Turf at TRC in Srinagar.
While the reason for the scuffle was not known, the J&K Football Association (JKFA) is, however, mulling to file a police complaint as one of the JKFA officials was assaulted during the episode.
As per eye-witnesses, the incident occurred on late Saturday evening after Sports Council Football Academy (SCFA) was defeated by Kashmir Avengers FC by 3 goals.
“Soon after the culmination of the match, an official of the JKFA and two coaches were seen engaging in a brawl,” they said.
JKFA has alleged that two coaches assaulted one of their officials to allegedly sabotage the ongoing tournament.
The Association said that some people with vested interests don’t like JKFA conducting Football tournaments.
The JKFA said that the unfortunate part of the incident was that one of the coaches who resorted to assault claims to be the role model of the youth.
In meantime, the International Footballers Forum (IFF) came out in support of coaches alleging that JKFA, to hide their failures, is levelling baseless accusations.
