JAMMU, Sept 29: Magnificent innings of 51 runs by Hardeep Singh and good show by bowlers helped Simula Cricket Club outplay KCSC Seniors to win the title of KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Cup at KC Public School ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Simula Cricket Club scored a modest total of 127 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Hardeep Singh top scored with 51 runs, while Satish Kumar and Atul Sharma contributed 27 and 19 runs to the total respectively. From KC Sports Club Seniors, Vijay Dogra bagged 4 wickets, while Vivek and Tanmay claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports Club collapsed at 59 runs and lost the match by a big margin. None of the batsmen could cross the double figure mark. Hrithik was the pick of the bowlers for KC Sports Club, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Kuldeep and Raman shared 3 and 2 wickets respectively. For his splendid batting display, Hardeep Singh was adjudged as the man of the match.
Ramesh Mahajan, former Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) was the chief guest on the occasion, who presented a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for the winners and runners-up teams.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Vinod Kandyara and Sanju.
