JAMMU, Dec 13: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) in collaboration with Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) and Unison Cultural Troupe, staged 28th musical play “Save The Girl Child” at 197-Durga Bhawan, Janipur (Jammu).
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, State Health Department.
VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr Anju Dogra, State Health Department, Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer, Exide and Vijay Malla, Producer-Director, IPTA, were the guests of honor.
While lauding the role of BLSKS in his speech, the chief guest underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre which are still very powerful medium of communication.
The play written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, chairman, BLSKS, reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society.
The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby, the cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society, “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age.”
The artists participated in play were Rajni Gupta, Zulekha Farid, Parkiti Sharma, Harjinder Kour, Anu Pandita, Nitin Pandita, Rakshit Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Dhruv Pandit, Samarrth Gupta, Sanam Gupta, Vandana Gupta, Bodh Raj, Anantika Sharma, Shival Kumar, Rakesh Katoch, Ganshyam Yadav, L-Danika , Bhumika Chib, Abhi, Shiban, Archna, JK Koul, KK Joshi, Asha Zaroo, Kamli, Rajveer, Devam Jandiyal, Rahul Wanchoo, Mohd Afroz, Neelam, Kamli, Kuldeep, Shiv Kumar, Suraj, Usha Raina, Asha Zaroo, MC Kotwal, Vijay Malla and Hem Raj.
