JAMMU, Aug 22: 1st Jammu District 6 Red Ball Championship along with 24th Jammu District Sub-Junior and Junior Billiard and Snooker Championship was today declared open here at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium.
The Championship was declared open by Joint Secretary, Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma in the presence of Sports officials, JKBSA officials and a large number of players.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu, Satish Gupta, Manager, Indoor Sports Complex, Chairman, JKBSA, Siddharth Sharma, president, Sanjeev Gupta, senior vice president, Jaideep Manocha, vice president, Nikhil Kaphai and treasurer, Sohail Khalid.
Gurjeev Singh will be the organizing secretary and Rakesh Sharma will be the official marker for the tournament.
In today’s matches, Umer Sheikh defeated Pawan Sharma by 3-0, 61-45, 38-28 and 33-26 while Aditiya beat Geet by 3-2, 20-31, 18-30, 43-21, 34-31 and 37-24. Gagandeep Singh thrashed Akash Mahajan by 3-1, 46-43, 41-25, 31-54 and 41-0.
