JAMMU, May 25: Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Chairman Campus Sports Committee inaugurated the Inter Teachers /Officers Tournament in the disciplines of Badminton, Carrom and Table Tennis at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here.
The Tournament is being organized under the supervision of the Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Brij Baloria, Romesh Sharma, PD Singh and Jai Bharat.
Earlier, in Badminton, Vivek Slathia (D.R. Adm) beat Raj Kumar (Deptt. of Law) by 21-14, 21-05; Goutam Sharma drubbed Tarsem Singh (Deptt. of Law) by 21-18, 21-15; Vikas Karlopia outplayed Dr Sandeep Arya by 21-10, 21-17 and Vivek Slathia trounced Vikesh Sharma by 21-10, 21-05, while in Table Tennis, Prof P V K.S. Baba defeated Dr Shushil Sharma by 11-08, 11 – 07. In Carrom, Raj Kumar Bakshi beat Akash Bhola by 2-1; Dr Daud Iqbal Baba outplayed Goutam Sharma by 2-1; Ameet Tagotra got better of Vikas Karlopia by 2-0 and Prof P V K S Baba beat Dr Sandeep Arya by 2-0.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid and Gagan Kumar.
