Bhatnagar honours winners as Horizon Club drubs KCSC to lift title

JAMMU, Jan 17: Advisor to LG, RK Bhatnagar honoured the winners and the runner-up teams of the ongoing 6th Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship in an impressive and well attended valedictory function at Police Auditorium, here today.
Mr Bhatnagar who was the chief guest on the occasion was accompanied by Dr Owais Ahmad, Transport Commissioner J&K and a galaxy of dignitaries.
The Coordinators of the event SSP RK Bhat, Additional Secretary Road Safety Department and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and former Ranji Trophy Player were also present on the occasion.
In the final match, Horizon Cricket Club defeated KC Sports Club in a close contest by 13 runs.
Batting first, Horizon Club scored 107/7 in 12 overs. Preethi (30) and Kanhaiya (29) were the main scorers. Puneet took 4 wickets, while Raman Dutta claimed 2 wickets for KCSC.
In reply, KCSC managed to score 94 runs to lose the match by 13 runs. Raman Dutta (28) and Arvind (27) were the main contributors. ForHorizon, Piyush and Tanmay claimed 2 wickets each. Prethi was adjudegd as the man of the match, while Jatin Wadhawan, Abhinav Khajuria and Sukhjinder Singh were declared best batsman, best bowler and man of the tournament respectively.
In the girls section, Jammu Angels Cricket Club defeated Jammu Queens Cricket Club by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu Queens Club scored 43 runs in 6 overs, while in reply, Jammu Angels chased the target in 5.5 overs by losing 3 wickets. Rifat was declared women of the match, while Rubia was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
In Junior Category, Game Changer and GSI Junior were declared joint winners.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the organisers for holding the tournament in a befitting manner.
