JAMMU, Nov 21:  Bharat Vikas Parishad J&K State unit organized state level “Bharat Ko Jano Quiz competition 2015 at Guru Harikrishan Public School, Nanak Nagar, here today.
Brig Suchet Singh, Prant Sangghalak RSS J&K was the chief guest on the occasion, while Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly presided over the function.
Dr Davinder Manyal, MLA Samba and S Bhupinder Singh, Retired DIG, Chairman GHPS were the guests of honour.
The function started with the lighting of the lamp and the recitation of National Song Vande Matram and the Shabad Kirtan. Devraj Sharma, State President gave the welcome address. Dr.D.R.Kotwal, Zonal Secy Sanskar spoke on the rules and regulations of the quiz competition. The quiz competition is in two categories-junior and senior.
About 20 teams participated in the competition. The chief guest applauded the efforts of BVP in promoting nationalism and patriotism.
Kavinder Gupta also appreciated the event and is of the view that such type of events will create awareness and knowledge about our own country.
Dr. Davinder Manyal, MLA Samba advised the students to always remain positive in their life and do something for the society.
The quiz competition is conducted by the state convener ML Vaid, Gopal Sharma and Arun Sharma. The vote of thanks was presented by Sh Vijay Sharma, State Vice President.
The programme was conducted by the state general secretary, Amita Sharma. All the participating team was given certificates, momentous and the refreshment. The programme concluded with the recitation of National Anthem.
In senior category, Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Jammu, Vidhya Peth Public School, Chowk Chabotra, Jammu and Middle School, Jammu bagged first, second and third place respectively, while in junior category, the first three places were bagged by Govt Middle School Railway Station, Jammu, Heritage Public School, Sainik Colony, Jammu and Vinod Public School, Kathua.
