JAMMU, Dec 26: Bhabya displayed grit and guts to topple Babyta in two straight sets by (11-06,11-05) in cadet girls to advance in the 34th Table Tennis State Championship, being organized by J&K Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In another match of cadet girls, Yatiksha defeated Sehar by (2-1) sets in a close contest by (11-09, 05-11 and 11-08). Yatiksha won the first set narrowly, lost the second one and came back strongly in the third one.
In sub junior girls, Ritu Charak defeated Anandita Bharti in straight sets by (11-04, 11-05), while Archita beat Bhavya by (11-09, 11-02) and Shreya trounced Yatiksha by (11-02, 11-08) to move into the next round.
Shrea drubbed Archita by (11-04, 11-03) in junior girls, while in other junior girls matches, Apoorva trounced Sehar by (11-03, 11-06) and Surbhi Charak defeated Shelonika by (11-06, 11-07).
Meanwhile in sub junior boys, Divyam beat Chetan Sharma by (11-03, 11-04), Sharukh outplayed Sahil by (11-08, 11-08), Ashank outclassed Nayeem Iqbal by (11-09, 11-09), Amrit Koul got better of Hanumant Sharma by (11-07, 09-11, 11-03), Anuj prevailed upon Anirudh by (11-02, 11-03) and Ritwik Gupta defeated Lavyan Gupta by (11-02, 11-04).
The matches were officiated by Satish Gupta, Narinder Singh, Meenu and Manmeet Kour.
