Bengal takes 1st innings lead in drawn match

JAMMU, Mar 25: Bengal earned crucial points in a drawn match against J&K of the ongoing CK Nayudu Trophy at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 375/9, J&K added 18 more runs to score 393 in their first innings. Sahil Lotra remained unbeaten at 28 runs.
Bengal declared their second innings at 223/4 to set a target of 343 runs for Jammu and Kashmir. Opener Shakir Habib Gandhi top scored with 80 runs, while Ankur Paul, Sudip Kumar Gharami and Pradipta Pramanik contributed 47, 32 and 29 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, Sahil Lotra took 2 wickets, while Auqib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq claimed one wicket each.
J&K in their second essay were 51 for no loss in 19 overs, when the stumps were drawn and the match ended in a tame draw.
With this win, Bengal earned 3 points while J&K bagged one point.
