* Acting CEC stresses on preservation, promotion of ancestral games, sports

KARGIL, Mar 10, 2021: Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Hassan Arman Mosavi said that traditional sports and games are an intrinsic component of the history and culture of a community, and these should be promoted and propagated so as to ensure their preservation and to pass them to the posterity in their true essence.
The Acting CEC stated this while addressing people during the final match of the Batalik Vijay Cup Archery Tournament, 2021 at Lakha Silmoo today where he was the chief guest.
Medical Officer, Dr Ghulam Mohammad was the guest of honor, while prominent persons and elders of the Silmoo area, Archery players and sports lovers were present on the occasion.
The Acting CEC while hailing the efforts of the organizers for having held the archery tournament expressed optimism that the step will help in further strengthening the tradition of ancestral sports in Silmoo area. He urged the players and local people to play proactive role to preserve the tradition of Archery.
Meanwhile, in the final match Indus Batalik emerged as the winner by defeating Vishall Banju Gurgurdoo.
10 teams from Silmoo and adjoining villages participated in the tournament.
