JAMMU, Mar 10: Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh today released book titled ‘Building Self Esteem through Sports’, written by Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and former Ranji player of J&K at Police Headquarters, here today.
While speaking on the occasion, the DGP spoke with golden words about Rajesh Gill for his exceptional contribution and initiatives in organizing so many sports events and appreciated his contribution in coaching camps, arranging exposure tours and inviting professional teams from other states involving thousands of School/College boys and girls.
DGP complimented Gill for conducting 100 cricket events for the youth of J&K, so that they can exhibit their cricketing talent at higher levels. DGP also lauded his efforts for creating J&K Physically Challenged Cricket Team and guiding two cricketers of J&K UT to represent India in the World Cup at England.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill apprised the DGP that since his joining in the Police Department he worked for the welfare of the youth through sports activities under the banner of J&K Police and always contributed his cricketing expertise with the budding cricketers of the J&K.
He further said that a total of 100 cricket events including some big tournaments have been conducted so far in which 22,510 players participated. Similarly, six each ‘Soccer Championships’ and Volleyball Championships have been conducted in which 1500 and 1050 players participated respectively besides many others.
While thanking the DGP and all officers of the Police Department Gill said that the book is dedicated to J&K Police.
He also thanked the CEO, JKCA and senior cricketers for providing available infrastructure and guidance for conducting Cricket tournaments, coaching camps and arranging exposure tours of junior cricketers.
