Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club wins opening tie

JAMMU, May 15: Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club defeated Bhargava Sports Club Gadigarh by five goals to one (5-1) in the inaugural match of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sub Junior Hockey Tournament, being organized by Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation, under the aegis of Hockey J&K, here.
From Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club, Gurasis Singh was the star performer, who scored 3 brilliant goals, while the other 2 goals were netted by Harshkirat Singh and Inderjeet Singh. Udhay Pandey was the goals scorer from Bhargava Sports Club.
S. Gurmeet Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present were Rajinder Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey India, Dr Taran Singh, Organising Secretary, Gurpreet Singh, Prabjot Singh, Balmeet Singh and Harjeet Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Young Khalsa Club will take on New National School in the first match, while in another match, AKS Digiana will face Deshmesh Club, Nanak Nagar.
