Bandeep, Thaploo guide KCCC to big win

JAMMU, June 8: Magnificent half-centuries by Bandeep Singh and Raman Thaploo guided Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to a big win by 120 runs over Gorkha Cricket Club in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association under the supervision of Retd. Judge Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, KCCC, after early hiccups scored a decent total of 214 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Bandeep top scored with 79 runs off 51 balls, studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Raman contributed 55 off 53 balls including 7 boundaries. Kanaihya also contributed valuable 24 runs off 28 balls with the help of 3 fours. The knocks of Bandeep and Raman were awe-inspiring as both the batsmen hit the ball with fluidity, grace and brilliance. For Gorkha Cricket Club, Saqib took 2 wickets, while Pankaj, Pardeep and Kavit  claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Gorkha Cricket Club scored 94 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 120 runs. Rahul (37) and Rahil (17) were the main contributors. Vishal took 3 wickets for KCCC, while Ramdayal took 2 wickets. Sawan Singh and Nityam Abrol claimed 1 wicket. Bandeep Singh was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant batting display. Kishan Chand Cricket Club is being mentored by Ankush Abrol, Working Committee Member JKCA.
Meanwhile, at Sports Stadium Kathua, Kathua Baloonce Junior defeated Kings XI by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Kngs XI bundled out for a paltry total of 60 runs in 11.5 overs. Rohit and Abhimanyu chipped in with 14 and 10 runs respectively. For Kathua B Junior, Munish bagged 3 wickets, while Kanaihya, Balwinder and Nishant shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Kathau Baloonce Junior managed to score the required runs in 6.2 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets.
Munish top scored with 28 runs, while Bipan contributed 18 runs to the total. Rohit and Sujal took 1 wicket each for Kings XI. Munish of Kathua Baloonce Junior was adjudged as man of the match.
