SRINAGAR, June 2: First ever Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur T20 Cricket Tournament was inaugurated at Cricket Stadium Station Training center (STC) Humama, here today.
The Tournament in which 20 Sikh teams are participating is being organized by Gurudwara Prabandhak Committe Budgam in association with Border Security Force (BSF).
The tournament provides an opportunity for the budding cricketers of Kashmir Sikh community to rub shoulders and compete with their cricketing counterparts from other districts as well in the process of inculcating the spirit of healthy competition amongst them.
The tournament was inaugurated by IG (G) BSF IS Rana in an impressive and well attended function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hartej Singh, Principal Physical College Ganderbal, said that this tournament will provide a strong platform for emerging young players and improve standard of the game.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by the first match between Rangrath Warriors X1 and Khalsa Kings X1, which was won by Rangrath Warriors X1 by 4 runs.
