JAMMU, Mar 4: State Under-19 cricketer Avesh Sharma scored magnificent unbeaten 63 runs in the Shastri Cricket Club’s big win by 96 runs over FCC in the ongoing 1st Drug Free Youth Gharota T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Club, under the supervision of Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy cricketer at Academy Ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, SCC scored a decent total of 183 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Avesh Sharma was the top scorer with 63 runs off 51 balls, while Sachin and Atul contributed 28 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For FCC, Ginni and Happy claimed one wicket each.
In reply, FCC bundled-out for a paltry total of 96 runs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 87 runs. Atul was the top scorer with 19 runs. Mohit Puri took 3 wickets for SCC, while Amit and Avesh claimed 2 wickets each. Avesh was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
