JAMMU, Dec 9: J&K Athletic Association is conducting 1st J&K State Cross Country in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council on December 13 at MA Stadium, here.
The event will be held in men, women, jr men, jr women, boys, girls Under-18 and Under-16 years categories.
The distance for men will be 12 kilometers, while for women it will be 8 kilometers and for jr men and jr women it will be 8 and 6 kilometers respectively. For Under-18 boys and girls, the distance will be 6 kilometers, while for Under-16 boys and girls, the distance will be 4 and 2 kilometers respectively.
According to a handout issued here, the Association has advised the athletes desirous to take part in the competition to report to senior coach of State Sports Council and SS Gill, Associate Secretary J&K Athletic Association by or before December 12, 2015 alongwith date of birth certificate and entry fee of Rs 50.
This competition will serve as trials for selection of J&K Cross Country team for participation in 50th National Cross Country Championship to be held at Balewadi (Pune) from January 9 and 10, 2016.
