JAMMU, Mar 15: Athletes displayed extraordinary skills and showed promise on day-2 of the ongoing 44th Inter-Collegiate Annual Athletic Meet 2017-18 for Men and Women, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Varsity Stadium, here today.
All the events were conducted under the supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Today’s events were conducted by a technical panel of experts including Ramesh Sharma, S. Gurcharan Singh, Nirmal Singh, Amit Sharma, Vikesh Sharma, Gautam Sharma, Narinder Sharma, S. Gurbachan Singh, Chamel Singh and Gaurav Sharma.
In Tripple Jump (Men), Rohit Kumar Toor of SPMR College won gold, Mohd Usman of GDC Paloura clinched silver and Amit Singh Jamwal claimed bronze, while Triple Jump (Women), Richa Mowella of GCW Parade, Roshi Jmawal of the same College and Knachan Thapa of PG Department clinched gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.
The gold medal winners in other disciplines included Ajay Kumar of GDC Reasi (400 Mtrs), Skalzang Dolma of GCW Gandhi Nagar (Discus Throw Women), Sourav Sharma of GDC Reasi (Discus Throw Men), Shubham of GDC Khour (1500 Mtrs Men), Darshina of GCW Parade (1500 Mtrs Women), Gulshan Sharma of GDC Samba (Hammer Throw Men), SPMR College of Commerce (4×100 Mtrs Realy), Palvi Brar of GCW Gandhi Nagar (Shot Put Women), Narmita Katoch of GCW Gandhi Nagar (Long Jump Women), Rahul Sabarwal of PG Department (Shot Put Men), Rajan Sharma of GGM Science College (Long Jump Men), Sumiya Kousar of GCW Parade (Javelin Throw Women) and Manjit Kotwal of PG Department (Javelin Throw Men).
