SRINAGAR, July 30: Young sports talent across Jammu and Kashmir lit up the fields and courts in a series of Inter-District and Zonal Level Championships, with spirited performances in football, badminton, kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball, yoga and wrestling.
At GCOPE Gadoora, the Inter-District Provincial Level U-14 Girls Football Championship saw fierce action as Srinagar thrashed Budgam by 6-1, and Ganderbal routed Bandipora by 6-0, setting up a thrilling final. Director General YSS Anuradha Gupta hailed the event as a platform for empowerment and teamwork.
In Zone Tullamulla, the Zonal Level Badminton Competition at BHSS Wakura featured intense rallies among U-14 boys and girls, with medals awarded for standout performances.
In Anantnag, the Inter-Zonal Kho-Kho Tournament concluded with Zone Achabal winning U-14 and Zone Vailoo dominating U-17. Matches were tightly contested, showcasing strategic play and stamina.
Meanwhile, in Zone Arnas (Reasi), the Inter-School U-19 Girls Championships saw participation from 77 athletes across kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball, yoga, and badminton. GHSS Arnas emerged kho-kho champions, while individual stars like Simple Thakur (wrestling) and Nazia Kousar (badminton) impressed all.
