Bangalore, Dec 27:
Karnataka State Cricket Association Vice-President Ashok Anand was today selected as the President of the association after the sudden death of scion of Mysore Royal family Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, who was elected in the recent elections.
Mr Anand was promoted as per the governing rules of the Association at a meeting of the Managing Committee held today.
The 73-year-old Anand made his Ranji debut during 1957-58 Ranji season against Hyderabad. He had also played for Mysore, Madras, Indian Universities, South Zone and State Bank of India.
A right handed opener had scored 2410 runs with highest being 109 from 62 matches and had captured 14 wickets. (UNI)
