KARGIL, July 13: The Army’s “Forever in Operations Division Mountain Terrain Bicycle Expedition,” which began from Siachen Base Camp on June 25, successfully concluded at Kargil War Memorial, Drass. Covering 680 km through Ladakh’s rugged high-altitude terrain, the expedition showcased exceptional endurance, resilience, and national pride.
The 20-member Army team braved extreme weather and conquered passes like Khardung La, Fotu La, and Hambuting La. Along the route, the team engaged with 1,100 students from 11 Government schools and Ladakh University, sharing stories of bravery and the significance of the Kargil War.
They also interacted with NCC cadets from 1st and 2nd Ladakh NCC Battalions, emphasizing the role of youth in nation-building and careers in the Armed Forces. The expedition received overwhelming support from civilians and Army units en route, reinforcing the deep bond between the Army and the people of Ladakh.
