JAMMU, Nov 30: Army Public School (APS) Rakhmuthi celebrated its annual day with pomp and show.
The-two day celebration started on November 29. The function was presided over by Chairman, Army Public School Rakhmuthi and graced by many dignitaries.
The entire programme revolved around the theme ‘Sanskaar’. The event commenced with NCC cadets leading chief guest to podium for the inaugural ceremony. The show commenced with lighting of traditional auspicious lamp as a tribute to mother ‘Saraswati’- Goddess of Knowledge.
The Rakhmuthians looked splendorous and colourful, bubbling with energy to encompass everyone in their annual day celebration. Principal of the School, Shaswati Ghosh, presented the Annual Report and highlighted the School’s achievements.
This was followed by a welcome song. Thereafter, a classical dance was presented by girls of class IX as an obeisance to their mentors. An item was staged by the tiny tots of class 1st and 2nd who depicted the power, ingenuity and beauty found in Nature, which has always fascinated mankind and the need to preserve it.
Students of class III staged a skit depicting ‘Linguistic Unity in Diversity’ which was followed by an array of entertaining programmes. The most spellbinding performance which drew an unceasing applause was a play on theme ‘Hand in Hand with Family’ staged by students of class VI.
A melodious group song was presented by students of classes VI, VII and VIII emphasizing the need for women empowerment. Students of class XI unleashed a breathtaking stage performance- an enactment of a play which mesmerized the spectators with the beautiful message of ‘A tribute to our real life Heroes’.
Students of class V, VI, VII and VIII presented a glimpse of various dances depicting ‘Cultural Heritage’ which involved various movements, figures and mesmerizing formations which engrossed the audience to the core.
The celebrations concluded with presentation of awards to academic toppers and winners of various categories in juniors and seniors of Best Musician, Dramatics, Mathematician and Dancers.
